When I re-read Strawson’s writing, it only build less credibility of who he is as a person and an author. At first I just had a light care or light read, and saw that this author is a simple person ranting about other people. Upon closer inspection I really saw the first person usage that the author had and upon this inspection realized that there is little to no support due to the lacking facts, and supporting evidence. Strawson at most provides her own experiences that contribute little to no meaning. However, Strawson does introduce numerous and plenty of sources to “back up” her claim. Despite this, Strawson has the ability to shutdown and discredit many authors without proper reasoning. This seems like professional churlishness by an author of this standard. If Strawson had at least made some attempts to introduce credible sources with supporting opinions, it would have built greater credibility. However, based on where it currently stands, Strawson has little to no support on his childish claim.
I encourage you to take a minute to Google “Galen Strawson.” You might enjoy learning more about him. A quick search might also lend more context to his argument. Don’t forget to post 3-5 pages of your annotations, and I strongly encourage you to print the assigned essays. It will make a big difference to be able to have physical copies of your essays during the drafting process.
