Before: Juuling advertisements have direct targeting towards a younger audience. Vaping companies already realize they can’t target the older generations for the simple fact that they either quit, or are only hooked on cigarettes. However, younger generations are easily manipulated into the trend and vibe that “vaping is cool” or “epic”. A lot of commercials depict young children having an amazing time showing younger audience members who will watch these, that vaping is a cool way to have fun. These younger generations eventually grow more and more as people begin vaping, eventually making vaping the status quo.

-Plan for STEAM, Implement quotes talking about empathy and understanding of manipulation and tricks.

After: Yes, it has been argued that vaping has helped a lot of addicted individuals to quit tobacco. However, how it has been questioned of how a program like STEAM could have any play in the role of dismantling or preventing this unhealthy trend. STEAM provides the student with the ability to have “flexible thinking” they’re is more discipline that leads to having that thoughtful understanding of a topic or dilemma or trendI(Ma). This flexible thinking and “innovation and imagination would guide the hands of many students on a proper path avoiding the manipulations of vaping company advertisements(Ma). Empathy in our younger generation of students would build not only mind to be stronger, but their discipline and imagination which would absolutely lead to innovation.
